International Training Week “Heritage and Sustainable Development”

The International Training Week on the theme of “Heritage and Sustainable Development”, organised by Sites & Cités remarquables will take place from the 23rd to the 27th of September, 2019, in Bordeaux.

This training week is intended for International stakeholders and local decision-makers, working in the fields of Culture, Heritage, Urbanism, Turism and Sustainable Development.

In the context of the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, as well as Sites & Cités remarquables’ work on the topic of « Old districts, Sustainable districts », the 2019 theme will be « Heritage and Sustainable development ».

Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, with the support of the City of Bordeaux, this week will allow to:

  • Exchange skills and best practices from French and international local authorities, in the field of Heritage and old districts as drivers of sustainable development;
  • Train professionals on the implementation of crosscutting projects in order to rehabilitate urban and rural sites, propose innovative solutions which could inspire projects in partner countries;
  • Promote projects of decentralised cooperation between French and international local authorities.
